    QUANTITATIVE MATH

    Equations, methods and techniques
These are the things that made your brain freeze
How could numbers be related to variables?
Quantitative will definitely answer those horribles

Math is not easy, yes it will never be
Quantitative Math is came from math tree
Crucial topics but in the end you will see,
A rainbow will come and a bright future of sea

A person who helped us to understand those
    Witty, awesome and funny host
A teacher who never fail to deliver
What our mind needs to get over

    Maybe Quantitative is hard
But always look at the brighter side
    Just appreciate its contents
And someday you'll realize what it meant

    MY QUANTITATIVE TECHNIQUES EXPERIENCE

Each matter holds information essential to nurture into a well-informed and well-designed member of our society. As we turn into further technologically reliant, technical thinking is necessary for survival. Quantitative techniques are those techniques which provide the decision makes a systematic and powerful means of analysis, based on quantitative data.

At first I thought this subject includes only those computation that can be easily solved. But I was wrong, quantitative techniques includes methods that really needs deep thinking. Because it helps people, especially those who work, decides what strategy they will be using.

On the first meeting of our class, I was feeling nervous not because of the professor but because of the topics that we will encounter. Nervous that I might fail to comply and understand the lessons. Numbers is one of the scariest things on earth. Because they will not cooperate with you instead you will cooperate with them so that you will be good together. And I am glad that we are in good terms though sometimes we don’t match. I am very pleased that I am able to study this subject with the utmost people on earth with a great professor.

In a short span of time, we experienced in this class how to think and analyzed situation in their most perfect ways. We also had fun during class, make jokes, and teased some of our classmates. I am hoping as we continue on this journey, I will gain more knowledge and enjoy the whole semester.

    My Quantitative Techniques Experience

In the business world, and in every aspect of our daily living, quantitative techniques are used to assist in decision making. It is also a way of measuring things.

Quantitative Techniques in Business is such an interesting but difficult subject. At first, you can say that it is easy because it’s like you’re only reviewing your high school Algebra. You will just find the value of X and Y by using different methods in Linear Equation System like Elimination and Substitution, and after determining the value of it you will do the graphing wherein you will plot your answers on the graph, that easy but as time goes by it’s getting harder and complicated because to be able for you to get the value of such variable correctly you need to be good in understanding and analyzing a problem.

Quantitative Techniques is indeed a tricky subject but still I’m finding it easy and exciting because I know that I will absolutely learn more because we have an admirable professor that will do his best for us to get the subject. All we need to do is to listen and follow him.

For me it’s not always the subject that’s making it hard, sometimes it is the lecturer who taught it. As in our case, we have a good professor that’s why the subject is not that difficult.

    MY QUANTITATIVE TECHNIQUE EXPERIENCE

Quantitative Techniques are those statistical and operation research techniques which help in the decision making process especially concerning business and industry. In decision making, it help us analyze decision alternatives in a rational way that enables us to choose a solution that increases the likelihood of meeting defined success criteria. It can also be applied to a wide variety of problems. It is not enough to just know the mathematics of a technique. One must understand the specific applicability of the technique it is limitations, and its assumptions.

On our first day of class, I thought it was easy to catch up with the lessons that we have tackled and easy to solved the problems. But I was wrong about that, because quantitative techniques needs super deep thinking to learn the easiest or the simplest form of the computations. As we go along to our topics I know it will get hard and hard for us to understand, but I assure that somehow I still try my best to understand it clearly and comply all the requirements in this subject.

On the other hand, I like the strategies that our professor do in teaching this subject it is fast, clear and direct to the topics, he gives more examples and practices to us. All in all we also enjoyed this class, we laugh with jokes and teased some of my classmates and change their names. Lastly, I don’t feel super nervous or pressure in this subject, I guess slightly. And I hope that at the end of the semester I will gain more knowledge and practice analyze, decision making and strategies in terms of problems that I will encounter.

    MY QUANTITATIVE TECHNIQUE EXPERIENCE

Due to increasing complexity in business and industry, decision making based on intuition has become highly questionable especially when the decision involves the choice among several courses of action each of which can achieve several management actions. So there is need for training the people who can manage a system efficiently and creatively.

Quantitative Techniques now have a major role in effective decision making in various functional areas of management i.e. marketing, finance, production and personnel. These techniques are also widely used in planning, transportation, public health, communication, military, agriculture etc.

Somehow others told that QUANTITATIVE TECHNIQUE is really difficult to understand, but for me it depends on how a teacher express or interpret the lesson. It is quite difficult but interesting subject. Although at my first impression that it is hard to understand especially the theories. Without the computations, it is complicated. But with determination to learn and with the help of a very good professor, we are capable of understanding and applying it in our daily problems

    My Quantitative Techniques Experience

Quantitative techniques include methods that focus on objective measurements and analysing numbers in order to draw conclusions about research subjects. These methods include polls, questionnaires and surveys. They also either describe a phenomenon by measuring it once or perform an experiment in which researchers measure the phenomenon before and after they introduce a treatment.
We all know that quantitative techniques is a very hard subject like what our professor said so we need to study hard to passed the subject even we are an accounting major students who are very familiar with numbers. Quantitative technique is very different from accounting. When we enrolled last June we thought that Dr. Orata is not our professor because of the schedule in our registration form is TTH 08:00-09:30 and Dr. Orata is teaching from 05:00-08:00 only but the schedule was changed and I don’t get nervous because he is our professor in Statistics before. On our first meeting, I forgot about Algebra but thanks to our professor who reminded us Algebra clearly. The one thing I love the most to our professor is he is not using book but present the lessons very clear and I remember what he told us before that “ HINDI NYO NA KAILANGAN NG LIBRO DAHIL AKO NA MISMO ANG MAGIGING LIBRO NYO.” Even the way of his teaching is fast he always make sure that we understand the lessons very well before we proceed to other topic. 05:00-08:00pm is a very boring time but we didn’t feel it because he is very jolly and has a great sense of humour and we can’t feel the pressure of the subject. But even the kindest person has limitation too, we went to class late and he is very angry with us because he doesn’t was us to come on class late. We’re very afraid because we all know that it’s our fault and no one to blame but ourselves, we learned our lesson from our mistake and we didn’t come on class late again. And one thing I learned from him is that always come to class prepared. That’s my Quantitative techniques experience.

    My Quantitative Techniques Experience

Quantitative technique is one of the most difficult subject in the field of Mathematics according to some professor but Dr. Orata taught us how to use different formulas to make the subject easier and understandable. Sometimes sir is getting mad on us because of being late. But most of the time quantitative techniques is enjoyable because it is delightful and funny jokes of sir and because of that the class is very attentive and not dull.

This subject becomes more interesting because of the tricky and quite difficult problem solving questions so that we need to study hard, fulfill all the requirements, project and improve our analytically skills to be able pass the subject and get a high grade.

Before the semester ends, I hope that I will gain more knowledge about quantitative techniques and be able to have more bonding with my classmates as well as with our dear professor.

Quantitative Techniques in Its Broadest Sense

Intelligence is not measured in terms of excellence, capabilities and even talent itself. But on how we used these things to come out on an efficient and effective decision- making process.
In accordance to this, we, students are grateful to have a professor who’s willing to teach us not just practically lessons that are assigned but strategies that will be helpful in our chosen field in the mere future.
As we spend time in learning new lessons, we also discover different techniques in understanding our course description. And each discussion is not just all about serious matter like usual class undergo. Because in BSA-IV, Quantitative Techniques, Thursday; 5:00-8:00 pm, fun is present. The moment we start our class, our professor make sure that we are not bored of his subject. We even have our time for jokes, call signs and even snack portion. This is the reason why we don’t find Quantitative Techniques a hard subject, instead a very challenging and witty class after all.
We are just but a few of the living proof that in order to have a harmonious professor and student relationship, respect and cooperation must be showed by both. And as we go along up until final, I expect personally, to maintain an interesting, challenging, and at the same time enjoyable class discussion with our professor.
Lastly, for our respected professor, Dr. Orata, I’m looking forward for more information’s that he will be generously willing to share not just to me but for the rest of the class.

    --->Thank You Sir..

    My Quantitative Techniques Experience

As we experience quantitative techniques , we all said that is was a difficult subject. At first I thought it was easy but when Dr. Orata give us more examples and seatworks every meeting the problems get harder and harder to answer. I knew that it was a very exciting subject. Quantitative techniques is in our line because we are an Accounting Student and we all know that is all about solving, analyzing, graphing and more computations.

Every time we’re having a class Dr. Orata always calls my classmates James Sorongon , “ COCO “ , Levin Mapugay, “ PIOLO “ . The whole class gets noisy every time they are called. This subject is a difficult subject, indeed , but it gets easier because of our professor , sir explain it as easy as he can , although he is our professor , he also said that this subject is a very hard. As a student I am willing to learn more techniques on how to solve and analyze more problems.

As we end this semester , I can say that the money that I paid to enroll this subject is worth-it . Thanks to our professor who taught us the subject and always makes us laugh when we feels sleepy.

    My QUANTITATIVE TECHNIQUES EXPERIENCE

In the first place I thought QUANTITATIVE TECHNIQUES IN BUSINESS are just an easy subject to take like the other subjects, but when the first day of classes has started our professor told us QUANTITATIVE TECHNIQUES IN BUSINESS is a hard subject to do and learn we need so much time to concentrate and study the QUANTITATIVE TECHNIQUES IN BUSINESS . But still I’m really thankful because even that hard much we use to think hard and learned to analyze any problem that our professor given to us.

Quantitative techniques are applied for business analysis to optimize decision making IE profit maximization and cost minimization. It covers linear programming models and other special algorithms, inventory and production models, decision making process under certainty, uncertainty and risk , decision tree construction and analysis, network models, PERT and CPA business forecasting models, and computer application.

I really thankfull to my professor Dr. Edmar L. Orata ,Doc.Edu. for this opportunity to learn the quantitative techniques and some formulas to make the subjects understandable .

    THANKYOU sir and GODBLESS 

    My Quantitative Techniques experience

At first, I want to introduce, i'm Jessie James Sorongon, 4th Year Student of Accountancy in Olivarez College. In this Subject, Dr.Edmar L. Orata, he is my Professor. This is the my 2nd meet with him and this is the first take of this subject that so I have not yet some experience . So at this point I want to say that many subject about mathematics was so difficult and this subject is one them.

Because this subject was focus on some equation that may difficult to understand (not all) but there are some easy to understand. There are some lesson that more on theory such as feasibility study, the first lesson, and the second Linear mathematical programming, Linear programming is a problem-solving approach ,in short this lesson is more on analytical or analyzing , because this subject make yourself become crazy (nakakabaliw), but for the others, it’s a challenge that make yourself practice and make yourself good in analyzing of some problems.

This lesson contains of some process to formulate that is identifying, objective function and formulating the constraints. Last but not the least, this subject (Quantitative techniques) was boring, but this is not boring because our professor makes us some jokes, such as he called me as coco martin! But it's ok because I know that he just kidding. Conclusion, later I said that this subject contain some analyzing problem, for my opinion this subject is for the person who are good in analyzing, lot of good in analyzing, but if you weak in this matter, Good luck to you for this subject.

  24. My Quantitative Techniques Experience

The first time I know that I’m going to have a Quantitative techniques subject, I feel clueless. I really don’t have any idea what this subject all about. When I learn that it’s a mathematics subject, first thing that comes to my mind is that I’s going to deal with many problems to be solved especially tricky and complicated problems and exercises. Afterwards I am informed that Dr. Orata will be our professor in this subject. I know that I can acquire so much and understand fully what is going to be taught in this course.

The first meeting in this course, Dr. Orata introduced to us the scope of this subject matter and the classification of management science techniques. On my own understanding quantitative techniques deals with the different approaches in solving management problems in which different methods applied and analysis in able to arrive at a decision. Based on the classification of management science techniques I’m expecting that I will learn a lot and can apply it on my chosen fieldwork.

The first lesson that was presented to us was only a review of the linear equation. I don’t find it hard since it was only a recall of my subjects in high school but at least we reviewed it because I forgot some of the methods in solving linear equations. I remembered how to find X through elimination, substitution and graphing method. The next review lesson is about the inequalities. It was easy since it is also a review but when it comes to graphing it confuses me for the reason that I find the solution set hard but as I practiced solving I already understand it. As to solving problems involving inequalities in one variable it was average for me. I am able to comprehend and solve word problems.

The first major lesson that was discussed is the linear programming which is under the linear mathematical programming. Dr. Orata presented to us the theories of the topic. He discussed the definition and the scope of the said lesson. He also gave us example problems and solve it so that we will have a guide on answering the remaining exercises and whoever gets the correct answer will be exempted from the quiz. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get the correct answer, I’m almost there but my classmate got it first. But it is okay for me at least I learned and I answered that problems on my own.

I know that we were just halfway of our journey in this subject. I am expecting that I will learn more and improve my problem solving and analytical skills. With the help of my professor, other classmates and self-study I will pass this subject and complete it with full understanding and acquired knowledge. This subject; Quantitative techniques will be a great help in terms of making wise and reasonable decisions regarding management problems.

    My Quantitative Techniques Experience

I have heard and encountered about "Quantitative Techniques", one of the topic when I was in highschool, and as far as I remember but not so sure, those are basics. I can say that this subject is difficult to learn but the good thing in this course is the challenge that I am experiencing.

Dr. Orata, our professor, is a jolly, kind and considerate person but he is very strict when it comes to tardiness and absence of his students. One time, I was afraid that he will not let us enter the room because we were late, I was wrong because he just said that we must not do it again. This is the second time that he will be teaching us and I am excited because I know I will learn a lot from him. I like the way he teach his students, very at ease and clear. He has the knowledge of an expert. I remember the first time I have met him, I was in awe when he started the lesson. Time is gold for him, he can finish topics as many as he can in one meeting. See? That great he was.

During classes, when we are so focus answering problems, he is there to pull out our minds from stress even in the short period of time. Being under by this instructor is awesome.

Studying quantitative techniques as of now is not that hard, I am saying this because I learned and understand the topics.

The first time I notice that we will be having a Quantitative Techniques subject I already expect that it would be another challenging semester for all of us. But when i realized that were going to meet again our professor Dr. Edmar L. Orata I know it would be a memorable semester again. As a student we are very lucky to have a professor just like him who has all the credential of a real professor, a person who always make us fun and happy. By simply teaching us I can say that I really learn everything. Well, hearing some feedbacks from other person about this subject makes me nervous, some says that it is a hard one but other said that it is enjoyable. But then, as what I've expected it is a hard one because some lesson we still need to use our common sense but then I enjoy answering and learning something new in my life, although its very hard for me to understand some lesson but still I find it as very interesting and challenging. The most embarassing moment I experience so far in this subject is when we came to class late because we still wait for the photocopy of the lesson on that day. Because of that our professor got mad but I admit that its really our mistake. I know and I promise that it’s the first and last that it would gonna happen. Spending 3 hours per week for this subject is not enough to satisfy the things we want to know but then I’m willing to exert some effort to learn everything. So far, I’m very happy and glad to be part of this subject. Now, I’m ready to face more problems and number that I may encounter for the following days because I know I can use it to my daily lives.

    "MY QUANTITATIVE TECHNIQUES EXPERIENCE"

Seeing the word " Quantitative Techniques" as one of our subject this semester is like... what is it ? Another accounting subject? But when I check the registration form.. ah its a math subject. Back to the word quantitative techniques where quantitative comes from the word quantity which means how you measure something in order to get the exact value and technique means an act usually done by skilled persons. When I first heard the word quantitative technique my mind says, "its hard but it depends upon how the professor will deliver to us the lessons inorder to understand easily.

Before the clock turns 5pm, I know that our professor is Dr. Orata because our schedule is from 5 - 8 pm and I think he is the only professor who teaches math at that particular time. In our first meeting, I was happy because of having Dr. Orata as our professor again. Same as before he is a kind of professor which is strict but not that so strict, he is just strict particularly in time, in activities and in projects that are going to be passed in the specific date.

I can't forget what had happened in our 2nd meeting because as Dr. Orata were busy solving problems in the board, there's this one student a comsci student who entered the classroom, asking questions about her schedule but because Dr. Orata were busy he told the her to sit for a moment because Dr. Orata dont want to disturb his lecture. After Dr. Orata settled her schedule, I had so much luagh in the fact that he's keep on saying that "Ano ba tong PoGay na to... istorbo! even if she's not a gay but a lesbian. On our 3rd meeting, when we opened the door its lock so were late, thanks to Dr. Orata because he gave us chance to join the class even if he's mad at us that time and because of that I decided not to be late again. On our 4th meeting, we transferred into another classroom, that's the only time when I experienced headache because I thought that our next lesson was easy just like finding the value of X and Y, graphing it and then finding the solution set but I was wrong. In fact when I read the problems, I was so confused but when Dr. Orata explained and solved it I realized that its not that difficult its just confusing.

Honestly speaking, I am confused with our lesson until now but I'll make sure to do my best to understand every lessons and of course with the help of Dr. Orata. I'd thank Dr. Orata for being our professor in this subject and also for being a math professor which brings happiness to our class inspite of difficulty that we are experiencing. And that's my quantitative experience -as of now-.

    "My Quantitative Technique Experience"

Mathematical problems exist anywhere. As we can see, there are several situations we never expect or should be expecting as we go further in our journey, specifically, in the modern world of business. It could be solved or unsolved depending on how creative and analytical thinker we are. Quantitative Technique is a crucial tool for it provides scientific methods for tackling various problems and it provides solutions to almost every area of a business.

At first, I thought Quantitative Technique merely includes numbers but I was wrong. This includes not only numbers but variables as well. Analysis and critical thinking is surely needed to enable us to solve problems and to come up reasonable decisions.

I could feel the butterflies in my stomach during the first meeting of our class. It might because of mixed thoughts and emotions of mine since it is my first time to be his student. Absolutely, I was amazed of how our professor taught in an efficient and effective way. I could say “wow” that instructor has great expertise in the said subject matter. Imagine, he had tackled not just one topic but more than one topic in a span of one meeting? As a first timer, I was speechless. It seems an energy drink for it awakens me. The good thing is, he is not just good in terms of mathematical lessons, he could even make us laugh during the class to give us a short time of mind relaxation. He is not so strict except whenever we came late in the class. He is strict in time because he doesn’t want time to be wasted particularly when it comes to discussion. From that, I learned a lot. Time is just a number yet it matters most.

Knowing Quantitative Technique as a difficult subject nonetheless it’s an interesting one. No matter how hard it will be, as long as there is a skilled teacher who will teach students clearly and effectively like what Mr. Orata did. Indeed, this is a great opportunity taking up this subject because I met a great professor and chummy co- students who definitely nurtured my knowledge.
