    My Quantitative Technique Experience

It actually feels surreal that we are on our fourth year now. One more year and we are about to take our board exams. I even call this year the “start of the real thing.” Not just because we should be taking everything seriously now, but because it feels like there in no room for failing now. For me, it feels like I have to prepare this early because I really want to be a CPA someday.

Subjects this semester are really tough. Dealing with three major accounting subjects is way too hard for me to handle. Then there is Quantitative Technique which is quite difficult as well. The first week of the class seems okay. I can still handle things very well. As the weeks pass, I find it hard to manage things. Since I’m not the studious and diligent type of student before, I really have to give double effort to study and understand the lessons because I honestly find x and y’s difficult to deal with. Good thing, the ambience during class hours is very active. There’s a little bit of competition going on but it’s definitely a healthy one. We enjoy the activities and we appreciate the incentives that our professor gives us.

Today, I find this subject really interesting to learn. I remember I heard a certain preach of our pastor on how we should take challenges so that we will level up. For me, I take everything as a challenge because I want to achieve something. I just hope and pray that everything will go well for me this year.

    My Quantitative Technique’s Experience

“Quantitative Technique” that is the description of my Math 4 subject, of course at first I don’t have any idea what is that subject all about. On my first day I was late but I’m not the only one who is late but still I feel embarrassed entering the classroom knowing that I’m late because I’m not that type of student so the next meeting I see to it that I won’t be late.

Our Professor is Mr. Orata at first I thought Mrs. Rodriguez will be our Math 4 Professor because on our past Math subjects she was our Professor. But it doesn’t matter anymore as long as Mr. Orata can teach us well then there will be no problem with that. As our lessons going on studying Quantitative Techniques is not that easy because the solutions for every problem is long and sometimes complicated. And to be honest sometimes I feel sleepy because our subject every Tuesday starts at 8:00 AM up to 8:00 PM and all my major subjects are in my Tuesday Schedule. When our Math class starts I’m already exhausted and hungry and wanted to go home and sleep but we’re lucky because Mr. Orata is allowing us to have a break.

But now I feel challenge when our Professor gives problem and if you answered it right, exemption on the quiz the following meeting is your prize. Quantitative Technique is a challenging and fun subject if you would appreciate it. Next meeting we will discuss the simplex method but it’s not that simple as it is named. I pray and wish that I will survive this subject. And that’s my “Quantitative Technique’s Experience.”

    My Quantitative techniques Experinces

At my first day of quantitative techniques class, I had already challenged my stock knowledge about the Mathematical Linear and Non-linear Equations. I was able to answer most of the problems correctly even in the quiz given by our professor Dr. Orata.

On the next day of our meeting, Sir Orata teaches us on how to graph those equation and to find the feasible region and I was also able to answer all the problems given to us but I was not able to identify where is the feasible region that’s why II don’t get a perfect score.

Again, on the next day, Sir Orata gave us our first quiz and then he teach another lesson about the graphical method. I was able to get it and do his example. And he gave another quiz and luckily, I’m the only one who got the correct answer and because of that I was been exempted for the next meeting quiz.

On the last meeting we had (July 09, 2013), my classmates had their quiz and I went outside to buy food for me and also Sir Orata. After that, Sir teaches us now how to solve the graphical method. He gave some exercises and he said that the first two who could able to solve the given problem correctly will be exempted again for the next quiz. I tried his entire given problem and luckily I'm was the one who answer the last given problem.

And that’s my Quantitative Techniques Experience for now

    My Quantitative Techniques Experience

Our Math 4 is all about Quantitative Techniques and our professor is Dr. Orata. On our first meeting, of coarse introduce yourself in front and after that, Sir Orata discussed the introduction of Quantitative Techniques. He dismissed us before 8:00pm., but we will be having our first quiz on next meeting and that is on June 25, 2013.

On our second meeting, we are all prepared for the surprised quiz and because of that, almost of us got the perfect score. Then, Dr. Orata started a new topic which is how to graph the equation and how to find those feasible region in the graph. And after, he gave us another quiz for that lesson.

And on the third meeting (July 2,2013), Sir Orata returned our paper for the last quiz, and I'm happy that I got the perfect score. And he discussed a new lesson which is graphical method. In first, I got confused but later on I got the lesson but in our quiz for that lesson, I got a wrong answer (not only me :)) that’s why we will having a new set of quiz next meeting which is on July 09, 2013.

Our last meeting for now, we have our make up quiz first then he teaches us our new topic which is how to solve graphical method. After copying what is in the blackboard, he gave many exercises for us to answer and he gave a reward for those who will give the correct answer and price is will be exempted for the quiz next meeting and I'm lucky because I able to give a correct answer one of those exercises.

And I feel it so challenging and interesting subject :). and also we enjoying the competition inside the classroom which is all of us are able to compete each other. :)

    My Quantitative Techniques Experience

I am accountancy student; one of the subjects that I need to take is the Math 4 or the Qualitative Techniques. I am curious why that Math 7A or the Calculus subject is the subject that I first to take so it was on my 3rd year level than the Quantitative Techniques that on my 4th year level. I know Calculus is a difficult subject so I think that Quantitative Techniques is difficult than Calculus because I think the higher the year level of the student the higher of the difficulty of the subject that they need to take. I expected that Quantitative Techniques is a challenging subject, so at the time that I knew that this subject will I take this semester I felt excited. Excited for what knowledge I can gain, Excited to meet the new professor that will teach the subject and excited to face the challenges that he will give to me and to my classmates.

At the first meeting, he wants to introduce ourselves to him. As usual, he asked the name, why this subject connected to our course, and expectation to this subject and expectation to him as the professor of Quantitative Techniques. After introducing ourselves to him, I think that he will dismissed the class early as the other professor did on the first day of the class but he did not, he discussed the lesson. As I expected he is different professor and I knew to myself that after this I can learn a lot on the Quantitative Techniques because of my professor that is great in teaching math subject. One that we need to learn is about how to graph and that was interesting. First I don’t know how to solve the problem that he gave but when he explain how to do it, the problem become easy to solve. By now, the topic in quantitative techniques is hard for me but I will give my best to understand it, of course by the help of my professor and my classmates. I think that taking up this subject is one of my good experiences in my college life.

    My Quantitative Technique’s Experience

On the 1st day of quantitative class, Our professor is Mr.Orata and of coarse the same thing what professor do in first meeting is introduce yourself. I felt comfortable to what I said because I'm 4th year student and it always do in the 1st meeting. Mr.Orata told us what was his rules and regulations and his requirement things in this class.

On our second meeting, we are all preparing for surprised quiz given by Mr.Orata about what we tackled last meeting and I got a perfect score to that surprised quiz. After that quiz Mr.Orata started a new lesson and I was excited because I love math very much.

Again, on the next meeting, He teach me about graphical method. Some of my classmates confused about this topic but for me it is easy to learn ehem! :) and when Mr.Orata gave a problem about this lesson I can answer that question correctly. My professor told us to photo copy what he did on this site for the next meeting.

And I feel so exciting, challenging and interesting about this subject and also enjoying the problem because when on of us got the correct answer, He/she was exempted next quizzes. I also like the policies of Mr.Orata because it will enhance that student to try the problem because of rewards :)

    MY EXPERIENCE IN QUANTITATIVE TECHNIQUES

They say Math is very confusing. Yes its true, it is hard but if you try to analyze and concentrate in the problems it will be easier for us to answer. Qualitative Techniques is very good subject. My experience in Math7 is very exciting because you encourage to study because our professor has its own way of teaching especially giving seatworks and quizzes; EXEMPTED to our next activity  Also you feel overwhelm when he praises your work when it is right.
In our Math class , there’s no dull moment, we enjoy solving problems, even if it is hard we try our best to answer it. I’m happy that there’s an interaction between Mr.Orata and us, his students in the class. We participate, share ideas when there’s a groupings and we easi;y cope up with all the topics that he taught to us.

    GOODDAY sir!

At the first meeting, I thought Quantitative Technique is too hard and Mr.Orata is a strict professor And I think the higher the year level of the student the higher of the difficulty of the subject that they need to take.

First I don’t know how to solve the problem, but our professor teach us very well so i can easily solve the problems now.But i love being challenge in life.

Sir thank you for teaching us well and we hope BSA students learn more about the subject so that we can use it for our future.God Bless!

    My Quantitative Technique’s Experience

Because Sir. Orata told this an easy math subject than we encounter before in our math subject. I been curios and think that about quantitative technique because now that I was encounter that it is hard and difficult at the beginning but later when It was already solve it is easy. The best excitement that I use my knowledge when we have quiz and seat work, also the part for me when we solve by grouping and we make brainstorming to each other and one of the most excitement also that I use my full knowledge when there is an exempted that one first solve the problem you be exempted but I fail to do to making first one to be exempted but I try until the end. It is hard but challenging so that I will try and do my best in all my effort . from now on I will more serious to your subject and always listen to you sir. And also enjoy it and make it fun…

Wikipedia defines that Quantitative Techniques are those statistical and operation research techniques which help in the decision making process especially concerning business and industry. These techniques involve the introduction of the elements of quantities. They involve the use of numbers, symbols and other mathematical expressions. On the first meeting, I was nervous that time. I said to myself "sana mabait yung prof, mahaba ang pasensiya sa pagtuturo at sa amin" and hopefully I can easily understand all the topics of quantitative techniques, even though I have no idea what the quantitative is all about. Despite the hectic schedule on every Tuesday, we have class from 8:00-12:30 then 2:00-8:00pm.i hope this last subject will be good to me. At first when I saw Dr.Orata. I was impressed to him because he came to class on time. He is very strict when it comes to the time, which is a must and right thing to do and of course as a future accountant we should practice it. Because as what they said "time is gold" and never waste it. Then, we introduced ourselves after that I'm so thankful because the first topic was so easy, but time as goes by we move to the next chapters. Wow, It was so hard and complicated. Because for me math is a very hard subject. The fact that, I was so lazy to solve the problem numbers. As we go along through discussions, seatwork’s, group works, assignments and quizzes that we have, I realized that all these things help me a lot to appreciate, familiarize, and know by heart the essence of math subject. That's why thanks to Dr.Orata because he helps us to exercise our mind, and mold us to become a good solver from different problems in math. I salute you Sir. For the long patience, always being on time in the class, and a nice professor , And finally I can say that Math is hard BUT it is more fun, challenging, exciting and interesting. I learned a lot from this subject.

  13. Quantitative techniques experience

Every Tuesday @ 5 pm, we have our Math subject w/c is Quantitative Techniques. It wasn’t an easy subject for all of us. It is indeed a very challenging, funny and superb subject. It challenges us all on how to think intellectually and mentally. The best excitement I had is that when we have our quiz or seat work, we were all cramming to know the exact answer to the questions given to us. And I feel so exciting, challenging and interesting about this subject and also enjoying the problem .
We are all thankful because we have you, Sir as our Quantitative Technique Professor.
    Thanks and good day

  14. Studying Quantitative technique is quite difficult.Well its a math subject! It deals with business related problem to come up with a better decision.as others have said Im also curios about this subject coz one of our professor told us that this subject is quite difficult.

Mr Orata challenged us in the first day.We introduced ourselves to the class and review the algebra. As we study further the quantitative technique it is more enjoyable and more challenging.Challenging in the sense that we strive hard to get the correct answer to the problem. Our professor Exempt the one who will get first the right answer. So every one of us aim to find The right solution. This serve us our motivation. The problems get more complicated as we study this subject further.

Studying this subject is not that easy. You must have your determination to learn this subject.attending in class alway make you pass the subject.

    Thank You sir!

    MY QUANTITATIVE TECHNIQUES EXPERIENCE

As an accounting student, I thought that college math classes are the hardest classes that many students encounter in college because of the thrills and the challenges in solving an equations and problems that others are enjoying and others are not. In this Math 4 Subject which is about quantitative techniques, I will tell you my experiences in dealing with it.

As of now, I’ve learned a lot of new things about it. Hard and easy things. Easy, because there are problems that can easily solved. Hard, because there are problems that are not. My best moment in studying it, is that solving problems all by myself and knowing that this is correct without the help of my classmates. On the other side, my worst moment is that solving problems over and over again and not getting the correct answers. But inspite of it, I still enjoying it because I really really like solving problems and equations and then graphing it. It was fun also because if you cannot solved some problems that are hard, you can do it with your classmates by helping each other.

Because there are hard problems that we cannot solved, I think that it’s a good idea to have the practice test that are given by our Professor Orata so that I can practice more until the real actual test. The practice tests gave me a better chance to improve myself on how to solve problems.

    My Quantitative Techniques Experience

Quantitative techniques is quite interesting and exciting. On our first lesson, I find it difficult because it was not what I expected because I taught it was just like the other branches of mathematics like algebra which is very basic and easy. But I was wrong; it was more complicated yet interesting and exciting because I was being challenged. In this subject, our professor made us think and use our mind to solve a specific problem that will be given to us by him.

I like the way how our professor gave us an exercise and whoever got the first correct answer will be exempted for the next quiz and be easy while others are answering their quiz. In this way, my classmates and I got challenged and did our very best to be the person who will be exempted.

I thank my professor for challenging us because he makes us prove to ourselves that we have this kind of ability to solve a specific problem.

  18. Quantitative technique gave me a feeling of excitement despite of difficulty. Numbers, formulas, and graphs are my greatest fear each time I saw them it gives me that feeling like I’m in a roller coaster, it makes me feel dizzy and headache will soon take the lead. Since my elementary days up to now I never enjoyed mathematics, I looked at it as a “boring time” that gives me a lot of pressure dealing on how to solve numbers. However, this semester that I experienced the quantitative technique subject I was really confused and it gave me a hard time to cope up but in every meeting that I encounter this subject it brought me an unexplained enjoyment that I never experienced on my previous math subjects. It is actually the colors of the highlighter and the 15 minutes break that I enjoy, kidding aside this subject is something that you really can’t resist, because every single minute is like a diamond. You have to set your 5 senses for exaggeration to get the idea of the lecture given, even a very little thing that we’ll miss would leave a big hole and question mark for the whole topic so we have to stop, look and listen all through the discussion.
Oh well, I really love the way my professor thought us, in every topic there will be numbers of examples that would definitely help us to understand and quizzes or seat work that would make us familiar on how the topic is being solved. Another thing that makes me interested to the subject is the incentives given by our professor, the first students who can answer the seat work correctly will be exempted on the quiz that will be given next meeting. It is such a great prize because every topic has full of surprises and pressures indeed. You are very much lucky if by next meeting we will tackle one of the hardest topics while you got the exemption isn't it good? All in all I am very much thankful with my professor for giving me a reason to be interested in the subject we have that I really hate before. Quantitative technique may be a little confusing but if we will only listen and understand it would be simply amazing.
